Psalm 40:10

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

When we read this verse in the context of verses 6-8 we then see that this also is a Messianic Psalm.  Psalm 40:6-8 reads “Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,  I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”  It was Christ who was written of in the volume of the book (Bible).  The Lord Jesus was faithful in all that God the Father had commanded, our Lord here states that it was His delight to do His will.  Getting back to verse 10 of Psalm 40, who do you think the ‘great congregation’ is?  They are the true believers.  The Lord Jesus, by going to the cross, showed unto us what great and awesome love God the Father had for us.  True we can say, “but it was the Lord Jesus Christ who died for me and not God the Father”.  But this is a great mystery to us, one that will not become clear until the last day.  What we do know is what we read in verses such as John 14:9 “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” and John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.”   The Godhead is something no one can understand on this side of eternity, God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit are all One God and yet we read that they are 3 distinct persons.  But God be blessed forever in that He has shown unto us His lovingkindness and truth by sending the Lord Jesus to pay for our sins on the cross of Calvary.
